Services

I provide high-level strategic advising for community-owned and community-governed projects, policy strategies and public sector initiatives rooted in a political vision for improving the wellbeing and advancing the self-determination of Black and Indigenous people, and all communities of color. I am also available for speaking engagements to discuss my Restorative Economics framework as well as philanthropic advocacy.

HIGH LEVEL STRATEGIC ADVISING

I enjoy working with groups to refine and clarify their project goals, and work with them to develop a roadmap to achieve them.

"Nwamaka has done incredible work with us at the Hidden Leaf Foundation to deepen our understanding of restorative economics and how we as may use all of our resources toward advancing our mission and purpose to support communities at the forefront of change.  Her deep expertise and grounded presence moves us through challenging conversations toward values-based action.  Nwamaka’s work and support of Hidden Leaf has been one of the best investments we’ve made in aligning our principles and moving more resources to create real change. Thank you!"
Supriya Lopez Pillai, Executive Director, Hidden Leaf Foundation

“In 2019, the San Francisco Foundation's People and Place pathways made the goal of pursuing wealth building as a strategy for grant-making and we began a partnership with Nwamaka Agbo to guide our team into this work. As a result, she led SFF to adopt the Community Wealth Building strategy which supports wealth building through collective ownership over land, housing, and business. Our partnerships with organizations leading this work and support in this community-led vision all began when Nwamaka led us through our initial planning and framing of shared ownership as a cultural preservation and anti-displacement strategy for our Foundation's investments and grant-making.”

SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS

I am happy to speak at events and webinars or present at workshops regarding my Restorative Economics framework. I can also provide analysis on current social, political or economic issues as they relate to creating a more just, sustainable and equitable economy.  You can find examples of some of my previous talks and podcast records here.

Through my role at the Kataly Foundation and with the Restorative Economies Fund, I am also happy to speak about the foundation’s approach to non-extractive Integrated Capital investments, as well as our work around philanthropic advocacy and solidarity philanthropy.

"Nwamaka Agbo is extremely effective in helping organizations improve their culture, leadership and strategies. She led a series of powerful antiracism and restorative economics workshops for RSF, and served as an advisor to our Racial Justice Collaborative. Her work is rooted in her highly insightful restorative economics framework, and her effectiveness is strengthened by her long history of community organizing, building strong relationships across race and class, and active listening to leaders on the ground. She’s exceptionally skilled, perceptive, and strategic, and operates with a high level of emotional intelligence. I would recommend her to any organization seeking to become more inclusive and effective."
